Case for Support

Case for Support

Elizabeth has been receiving services at TCRC Field Center for eight years now.  Elizabeth has cerebral palsy and has been in a wheelchair all of her life.  Because she is easily distracted and can become quickly agitated, she needs an environment conducive to achieving her full learning potential.  Elizabeth is one of th emany special people whom TCRC serves at its Day Training and Senior Services sites in Morton.  She is representative of the specialized needs of the profoundly developmentally disabled and medically fragile individuals who come to TCRC Field Center every day.

TCRC is committed to providing the highest quality of care for individuals with disabilities.  To celebrate this commitment and in continuance of our Mission, TCRC is specially designing and constructing a new facility that will help us provide more effective care.  The new day training facility will allow individuals, like Elizabeth, to participate in activites that are customized to their ability level, focus on goals, an become more productive and independent citizens.  Staff members will have more resources available as they assist each and every one of their clients to strive toward more independence and a better quality of life.

The facility features private, self-contained crew areas, each having its own large restroom, changing area, and storage.  Many windows, a large laundry facility, updated commuications, and tornado safe areas are also part of the design.  Covered entryways will protect clients from inclement weather as they enter and leave the building.  TCRC has found a way to reach out to the community that has been so supportive for the past 25 years.  A large multipurpose Community Room will be open to the public on nights and weekends for meetings, events, and special activities.

We hope you will join us in our effort to provide a better place for individuals with developmental disabilities to spend their days and enjoy a better quality of life.  Your support will make a difference in the lives of those we serve.

Everyone here at TCRC, staff and clients alike, is very excited about moving into a brand-new home.  This new facility will better meet out needs, provide up-to-date amenities, and help to promote client independence.  We can only imagine what the potential for client growth will be.
