President’s Letter

Dear Friends, Families, and Stakeholders of TCRC:

“A leader leads by example, whether he intends to or not” —John Quincy Adams

If you haven’t already heard, Ron Hale, TCRC’s President & CEO has retired after 14 ½ years of leadership to TCRC. In Ron’s tenure here, he has led our agency through some very difficult times. He has left TCRC in strong financial stability and as a provider of excellent services to people with disabilities and visual impairments in Central Illinois. Ron announced his retirement in August, 2010 which left the Board of Directors 8 months to find a replacement and to create a transition plan to make the succession smooth and seamless. I’m happy to report that this plan has been successful and I am well prepared to take on this role and lead TCRC into the future!

Jamie Durdel

Originally from this area, I came to TCRC in 2005 after spending over ten years in the child welfare field working for Children’s Home and Youth Farm in Peoria. I started my role at TCRC as the Vice President of Residential Services and for the past four years, I have served as the Senior Vice President of Program Services. I hold a Bachelor’s Degree from Illinois State University and a Master’s Degree in Human Service Administration from the University of Illinois. I have worked in the not-for-profit field my entire professional career.

I look forward to this challenge in what still are very difficult times. My values entering this position are exactly those that have come to be expected at TCRC: to provide exceptional care and treatment, promote independence, increase self-sufficiency, and strengthen those whom we serve.

Please contact me if you have any questions or concerns. I look forward to working in some capacity with all of you in the future.
